People who have been victimized by violence or crime and their families can suffer emotional, financial and physical pain as a result of a crime. BGCCC Family Services works cooperatively with law enforcement and the State of Texas' Attorney General's Office to help victims and their families recover from the effects of crime. Not only does BGCCCFS function as the official Victims' Assistance Provider for the City of Plano, but provides assistance to victims all over Collin County as well.
We achieve this by serving in three main areas:
Crime Victim Advocacy Services
Crisis Response Services
Counseling Services
Who May Qualify for Victims' Assistance
- Any victim of a crime that occurred in Collin County or victim that resides in Plano
- A victim of crime who suffers physical and/or emotional harm
- An authorized individual acting on behalf of the victim
- Immediate family, dependents, and household members of the victim or witnesses to a crime
- A peace officer, fire fighter, or individual whose employment includes the duty of protecting the public
All services are free of charge to victims.
